Sheraea Rusk Ceramics
Branding
Details
DISCOVERY/INSIGHTS: Sheraea had been building a ceramics practice one piece at a time before she landed on the real question: was this her name, or something bigger than her name? Hundreds of people have ceramic businesses. But no one is Sheraea. She invented Saturday coffee, after all. Which, full disclosure, is just adding cinnamon to your coffee on the weekends but it's this ability that Sheraea has to make a regular occurrence into a ritual.
PROBLEM DEFINITION: Handmade and refined don't usually get to share a sentence. Sheraea needed them to share a brand.
DESIGN SCOPE: The work stayed close to the essentials: a wordmark that's considered but unmistakably hers, a mark built to double as a stamp, pressed directly into the clay on every piece, and a color palette built to hold the range of a working ceramicist, studio to market table.
IMPLEMENTATION AND OUTCOME: Sheraea launched with a brand that reads as considered as the work itself. We even captured a bit of the Saturday Coffee effect; which is obviously best enjoyed in a Sheraea Rusk Ceramics mug. The people and sales agree.
